Diagnosis: Adenoid cystic carcinoma. Malignant salivary gland tumour.
Anamnesis: Slowly growing, bluish, firm nodule.
Symptoms: Painless buccal swelling.
Status, palpation: Firm, bluish mass in the right cheek.

Cytology: Adenoid cystic carcinoma.
Histology


  Adenoid cystic carcinoma growing in the perimucosal space.
Management: Surgery, sometimes followed by radiotherapy.
Follow-up: Life-long. Late metastatic growth (after 5-10 years) especially in the lungs.
