Diagnosis: Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the tongue. T3N12M0
Anamnesis: Pain when eating in the past four weeks. Has had a lump in the right side of the neck for three weeks.
Symptoms:  
Status, palpation: 20 x 40 x 55 mm tumor on the right side of the tongue. Central when fitting with a tooth. 20 x 30 mm hard node on the right side of the neck.

Cytology: FNA of node: Metastatic growth of SCC.
Histology: Squamous cell carcinoma.
Management: Block resection of tumour in the floor of the mouth in conjunction with modified neck dissection. Postop XRT 50 Gy.
Follow-up: First year: Every second month. Second tear: Every fourth month. Third to fifth years: Semi-annually. Prognosis: Five year survival rate 20 %.
